The provisions of the Data Act apply extraterritorially, and prescribe key obligations for: manufacturers of connected products placed on the market in the Union and providers of related services, data holders, providers of data processing services, providing such services to customers in the Union irrespective of the place of establishment of those manufacturers and providers.
